Paddle from The Mount harbour or take a private boat/dingy. Walk 4km along Island. Paddling can be very dangerous. You need to judge the ripping tides in the channel, dodge the cruise/container ships, and watch for sharks.

A nice spot. Deep clear water with a sandy bottom. Always 1-2 foot bigger than the main beach. Gets perfect A frames on a good day. Now becoming very crowded when conditions are right.
WELCOME TO THE ISLAND. secluded, beautiful, rugged. Keep it that way.

heavy - Matakana has some heavy locals. Id only visit this break if you know someone that surfs there regularly. Beatings are common place.
