This is the worst wave in Durban. There are two main peaks, Xcel and 101. It is sheltered from the swell and requires at least 8ft of swell, at which point it is a two kilometre long close out and about 3 feet.
Great spot to learn to stand and bottom turn. After that head north to wedge and learn to do top turns and cut backs, then go to New Pier, North or Bay and start getting barrels.
It is not worth it unless there is a really big swell and you do not have the guts to surf the bigger breaks.
