Surf trip description:

When you are looking for the best surfing spot. Often it includes a trip to other part of the world, as one who loves travelling and surfing can easily connect both of the hobbies together. However, the costs of the trip can be quite high, that's why I decided to try to travel cheap.

How to lower the costs of travelling abroad? Well, there are few ways. Apart from looking for bargains and good offers when it comes to flights and accommodation, it's essential to try to lower the costs of daily spendings when you are already there. And I don't even mean buy less things, but rather be careful with how you pay for them. Of course, when you carry foreign currency in cash there are no additional fees for it, but it's quite dangerous and inconvenient. That's why undoubtedly paying by card is much better. But, overseas card payments generate additional processing and currency conversion costs...

After a quick research, there are actually few interesting platforms and offers to try for foreign payments. First one is TransferWise and the second is Revolut. Both of them let you store multiple foreign currencies on one card, which means that when you are abroad you avoid both conversion fees as well as any costs of foreign payments. They are regular MasterCard/Visa-based. For example, here is a full article TransferWise Review: https://wirly.com/reviews/transferwise/ where the author explains the so-called "borderless" account, which offers this. Moreover, there are both advantages and disadvantages of their services, which is good, as you will learn the whole picture of the quality of their services.

Overall, that way it's simply cheaper to pay for anything while you are abroad and you can focus on enjoying your vacation or business trip and focus on surfing.
