It looks beautiful but if someone steals my board im fucked or someone steals my guitar il be left wanking in the bushes like a crazy monkey. Will anyone be out there from jan to april? Can you score reefer out there. Anyways any info would be cool, take it easy people, peace, jimmy

Now you know I have been to Pui Pui a few times. Yes the water is very nice and the little pueblo is cool but the place doesn't seem to hold size very good so be careful. At 3' it was fun but at 5'-7' it closed out pretty bad. There are other beaches in the area that have been good everytime. One in particular is about a twenty minute walk unless you can make it with a 4x4, the name of the beach is a tree.

Travel and/or live in Pui Puy When I was in Costa Rica, I heard about this spot from a guy who said it was amazing. He lived out there for 4 months and surfed all the time. I lost his contact info, so I cannot ask him about it. I am a college student in Washington DC, but will be graduating in May. I want to surf and learn Spanish for roughly 4 months in the Fall. Do you think it is safe to travel and live out there by myself for a few months. Will I go insane, or is there anything to do besides surfing? Where are the best places to stay?

Mistery unsolved I have been to Pui Pui twice, and I have to say I don't know what to say about the place. One time I went with three tropical sistems near the windward islands expecting to score and avoid the crazy crowds of the Litoral central and ended having the surf trip adventure from hell( supreme mosquito torture, diarrea, nonstop rain) My friend and I planned every thing but forgot wax,so we stupedly defied the gods and stole a bar from a kid we thought was a kook. Alas! intant karma. The plan was to go to the extreme tip of Paria where I heard this guy say that there was an excellent point reef break near punta pargo but the trip was so long from Caracas that we decided to camp in Pui Pui and talk to the fishermen to take us exploring when the swell hit. The swell finally came it was about 8'to 10' and the beachbreak was closing out,so from Pui Pui we left with our friends the fishermen to checkout were we could surf, we went as far as San Juan de Las Galdonas and more The result no epic break during this tropical swell but the fishermen told us that during December it was common to see 5 to 6 meter waves, I asked him if he was shitting me and with a serious face he said no .I don't know what to believe.San Juan de Las Galdonas did have a reef that started to show potential with 8' to 10' .Maybe it was the swell or the karma. The second time I went with a girlfriend and surfed 5' to 6' foot waves hallow and fun and the locals were saying you should of been here yesterday it was 15' feet glassy. what can I say seeing is believing.Geographically the region has in my opinion potential to recieve good northeast swell from the Atlantic so why not? It is beutiful virgin land still wothwhile exploring, so much poverty though. Thinking maybe in the near future dooing some missionary social and cultural work in the region, and if I'm lucky solve the mistery and score some epic swells in this virgin paradise.

huts on the beach There are huts on the beach you can stay in they are clean and safe. Many south american families come here for the weekend. There is one small restaurant so make sure you bring your own supplies. I was here 8 years ago so all may have changed..but i doubt it.

Any surf in Guyana? Hey I'll be going down to South America next month and I was wondering if there were any surf spots in Guyana, close to Georgetown. If not, what the best break closest to the Guyana boarder?
