Drive along the main route and you will reach the beach...paddle out and have fun. + Take the Interbalnaria highway to Jose Ignacio, 30 kms away from punta del este and you`ll see the beach from the higway. It's the one on the left side.
Every time you´ve surfed a wave you need to reach the beach and paddle out again.. + When all the spots of Punta del Este are blown by the Pampero (strong winds from the SW), come to this spot and you will find a good break with offshore winds.
Overview
Atmosphere
Few locals, very quiet, be careful with the kids which are taking a bath with no boards. Have fun and enjoy a latin surf spot. + There are no locals in Jose Ignacio except the ones from punta del este, respect and you will have no problem. A good advice is not to come in groups of more than two people.
General
It is a good, regular wave to practice radical and modern tricks such as aerials... + The spot is a good break in Uruguay, especially in the days where Pamperos make it impossible to surf in better breaks.

Where to Stay in Jose Ignacio
If it isn’t too much trouble, would you be able to give me some information regarding where to stay in Jose Ignacio? I am traveling to Uruguay at the end of November (through the first week of December) and would like to visit this village for a night or 2. Thus far, I have only been able to find information on 1 hotel and it’s a bit on the expensive side. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
