Wannasurf map shows location well enough. Drive south on Panamerica highway. Keep eyes open for sign "Puerto Viejo". Turn right and drive another 3 kms until beach.
Drive around to the left end of beach. Park by beach.
Overview
Atmosphere
Desert and long beach. Surf Spot by a big rock full of birds. Green and low vegetation behind beach. High and dry hills. Looks like they may charge to access in summer and holidays. There are a few houses and many basic bars and restaurants. However off season only a couple of them will open.
General
Perfect waves remind of Chicama - easy to ride. Easy to enter padling at left end. Pure Juice!!

It´s worthy
Comparing Puerto Viejo to Chicama is a little exagerate, but it is a really nice left. It is more like Cerro Azul, another left heading some miles to the south or, for those from Brazil, Guarda do Embau. I´ve been there in 97, and I´ll try to extract some pictures from film to publish in this site.

Classic Spot
I lived in Peru for two years and surfed it many times. It's a great left point break and it can get real big. It's fun and you'll want to take it all the way in. You can, but you'll eat sh*t on the shore break :) Enter from the left, you can almost walk to the line up. Nice rest from most paddle outs in Peru 200-500 meters.
