Boca del rio is not a single spot but a collection of beaches, some of them are sand, rock, reef bottom. Summer (january - february)is the best time: good wheater and great night life. The town in winter is a ghost town, but no single beach is crowd. In winter there is bigger swell. The acces to the beaches is easy but some "secret spots" are reached only by 4x4 cars
Atmosphere
I like it, is where i´d been surfing for years!, the environment is a contrast from the dessert and the sea, no rain and confortable temperatures all over the year, winter clear skies and incredible sea food. none of this beaches has any sign of contamination since there no one single waste water open to the ocean. There many other activies to do in summer: motocross, sandboarding, trekking, river free, etc.

how to go there - Hello, i like to go to boca del rio, but i cant find it on google maps...
I also don`t have a car, is it possible to go there with a bus?

Paradise in the middle of nowhere - This place to me means more than just a vacation spot.. I've spent so many years visiting these beaches and getting to know them I can truly say they are the best!!! You can do all kind of sports..surfing is always good.. funny thing .. my first surfing lesson was also in tomoyo beach many years ago..partying..uffff!! even cool for fishing.. sandboarding is also very nice.. this is a place where you'll feel confident to try just about anything.. you'll feel like you own the beach yourself!

How to go there - Nils, if you wanna go there during the summer time and you're in Tacna downtown, you can take a taxi for US$1.5 to the Boca del Rio bus stop, where you can take a bus to Boca del Rio. You can also go to Flores Hnos. Bus Station, and buy a ticket to Ilo, which is 2 hrs. from Tacna, then you just get drop in Boca Del Rio, 45 minutes from Tacna city. You'll enjoy it
