Punta Huanchaco best time to go
Hey guys,

I will be going to Peru in February for 3-6 months. I will be living in Trujillo so punta Huanchaco will probably my best bet within biking distance.

Since I have to accept a certain schedule in advance it would be great to know when the Point works best. I can get free time either in the morning, around noon or in the evening. It would be great if any of you had any idea knows where to find a tide calandar online etc.

And who is there at that time for a session?

Thanks and all the best
Simon

Stolen wetsuit discovered in surfshop
We found two wetsuits which were stolen in chicama in the huanchaco surfshop "wave". we went to the police and finally got back one of the wetsuits which was a rare french brand that doesnt exist in south america. at night one of the owners looked for us in the streets and got kind of aggressive when finding us.
Ill never go back there as the surf wasnt good either...

surfing class
Hi, I would like to take surfing lessons in Huanchaco, but itīs really hard to find on the internet. What about īun lugarī? Is there a way to get in contact with it? Or any other surfing school? Thanks!

Such a beautiful place with one of the longest left handers ive ever surfed! Wouldnt be surprised if i move here one day. No need to book in advance, plenty of great places to stay. I would go with a board, they sometimes have boards for sale at hostel my friend, but are pretty shitty...
Sunsets in Huanchaco will forever be remembered!

What to Bring?
I am going to Huanchaco/Chicama to surf for a week in August 2008. Can I purchase surf boards in Huanchaco? I am also very tall and big 6'6" 225 lbs. Can I find a place to stay when I arrive or should I try to reserve in advance? Finally, can you hire a ride to Chicama? Thanks for your help!

I'm into the joint!
More swell than Chicamas, more places to eat, and more life. Like Kuta in Peru but with only peruvian local tourists (that don't surf!) I rocked on a sunday up 10,000 people on the beach, 6 trying to surf! Score!

yay
The person who said Huanchaco isn't a point is dead wrong...it is most definitely a point...but yeah...not one of Peru's perfect waves, but its always fun and is a great place to stay while waiting for a swell to turn Chicama on...been there a few times and will be back for sure...

Mi Casa al otro lado del mundo....
I've been in Hco during more than a month,I'm just back...
This town is fantastic to live in. Not one of the best wave in Peru ( like chicama or Lobitos more) but for sure one of the most sympathetic place for the persons who live there.
Special dedicace to John and Carlos from "Indigan" and "The wave" surf schools and Anna and El Chino from "my friend"...
Sure i'll be back in a year and forever..!
See you buddies! ;-)
