12 degrees.... - If I make the map range any bigger how will you see where the spots are?? However, a clever trick is to back-up the hierarchy of maps to 'Country' and 'Continent' levels and you'll find that the country just above Peru is 'Equador' - which despite having abandoned its currency in favour of the USD, has maintained its links with the equator. Equador (and the equator) are north of Peru, hence Lima is to the south... about 12 degrees south.
Good point though: we don't have 'scale bars' on many of our maps... this should be dealt with as we progres as there is no standard scale used from country to country.

need bigger range - I soooo think that you need a bigger range of your map, I wanted to know if Lima was north or south of the equator but i couldn't tell!!!!:(
