beach house to stay at 8 kms north of Montanita - hello gang...i am an american who has a nice beach house located 8 kms north of montanita (in las nunes) for those interested in a nice place tostay at while on their surfing trip. you can see some pics at eldelfinfeliz.blogspot.com and you can't miss it if you drive north of montanita on la ruta del sol. the house has 7 brs (3 oceanview rooms with privtae bath; 4 others split in pairs with shared bath between each pair. 3 meals a day will also be served (limited but tasty menu). email ahead for reservation especially in peak season from dec-may. we also have connections with a surf shop on montanita that will offer our guests a discount on surfboard renatal and will also transport our guests to where the best waves are on a particular day...sweet!

visiting equador - Traved the whole country for a month. Skip salinas; you will not find a cheap boat trip and it is like florida on crack. Start your trip in montanita and see the freak show and catch some fun surf. Head further north and you will find fun beach breaks,nice people, Overall surf in this country is just average at best - you really are better off going somewhere else for surf unless you want to hit the amazon for an adventure.

trip to ecuador - some boys and I are going from san dieggo to ecuador in December. Is it best to hit up a surf camp or go for it on our own? we want to meet the real people of ecuador and get lost in the culture as well as surf everyday. Looking for adventure as well as safety.
