Nice winter waves
Just got back from a few weeks in B'quilla. Got out to surf El Bolsillo several days. As it was winter, most days were windy, and fairly sizeable. Caught one day when the wind backed-off, and it was just lovely; "clean" lefts, little current, long rides.I really love the people who surf here. Just as friendly a surfer as you'll meet anywhere. I was worried as I was the only one on a longboard, and was catching more than my fair shake. But nothing but hoots and smiles from the locals. So if your a local and reading this, thank you for sharing your waves. 3 weeks later, I'm still stoked on the place. you're welcome up here anytime! www.superiorsurfclub.com

safety concerns
Colombia, as a whole, is probably not the safest of places. However, the Atlatico is in stark contrast to the rest of the country. The violence has not quite made it to the coast. But it IS making it's mark. Just recently there was a bombing at a grocery store 2 blocks down the road here in Barranquilla. However, this seems to be quite the exception, rather than the rule.People I've met in Colombia are almost all warm, friendly, and generous, almost to a fault.
