- Average ? Where do you live?Plenty of days like the pictures and all year round too , is that average to you?? Most comments critisizing the place here , reading between the lines , are from beginners who don't like getting slammed. Anyway , I think Las Salinas is at the outlet of some scummy river in Vina.It only breaks when the river flows through and drags sand out.Supposed to get pretty hollow, I never saw it breaking though when I lived at La Boca for 2 yrs.

What about Las Salinas? - I been to Vina Del mar several times and surfed the average waves of Reniaca and wanted to find out if that beach nearby called las salinas ever breaks. Does anyone know if it ever breaks because I never saw anyone surf out there. Is it even surfeable??? Stormrider guide tells me that it's a left point!?!?!? Who knows?

very consistent... - I made the trip down from california and was surprised how consistently powerful this place was. Clean, sucking barrels with some slamming "paredes" ,walls mixed in. On the days I went out, most waves walled out quickly but some had very launchable sholuders and fairly good rides. Reminds me of a very consistent 10th street,thousand steps(laguna beach, CA)- like break. Get ready for some green room time and sand in everything orifice! Super easy to get to, take the number one collectivo from Viña del Mar or Con Con from the north. Have fun, lots of hot girls in the summer!

Reñaca??? sucks - Hi I am Olaf from Argentina, I go to Viña every winter and summer to spend my holidays, I like Chile a lot, but the surf in Reñaca....ouch, horrible waves, and the locals sucks, there are a lot of body boarders...
the only good thing are the argentinian babes and the music.

Far from being a classic - Mostly close-out, crowded of bodyboards and grommets. Not a regional classic. Besides, Viña is expensive.
