A rugged coastline, which makes for great surfing as well as difficult access. However, as this is also a vacation destination for Sao Paulo, the facilities and resorts are excelent. The climate is tropical (just), however the water is cool, coming from the south (Antarctic), and except for hot summer days, a chioce of trunks or a shortie is advisable.

We rented a car last minute and drove down on a Sunday. Should have prepared more but everything worked out really well.

hey, i am a canadian living and working in campinas but plan to surf the weekends. can someone recommend a good place to stay in or around ubatuba that is cheap and near some good surfing. i do not have a car. also, where is a good place to buy a surf board and what is a fair price? thanks.
