Another super spot, great conditions...4-6 foot perfection for 2 of the best days of my life..Very few international surfers in these parts which makes the place that much better. The locals just ask for respect, which they deserve. If you are cool with them, they will become your best friends..If your some gringo stinking up the vibe at some incredible destenation like this you need to get packing..Respect and be humble.

excuse me mister oliver but do you speak some kind of secret agent jargon or is it just because you're too high ? your country seems to be the last tropical paradise destroyed by monkey surfers for whom show is much more important than hability, or even, lets's say, just respect. and think about the surf as relaxation.. good luck.

Dangerous and inconsistent
Bad attitude locals, dangerous to get there (by boat or by trek) and inconsistent (breaks 20 days per year in good condittion such as in the pictures)... I'd rather go to Maresias, Camburi or Ubatuba... more options, easy access, less locals... Aloha

I am local in sao sebastiao(bonete)
The great trick to catch good waves and to be bothered is not always to go folloied for a native! It looks a friend who ja was to bonete. Brazil is the country that possesss the biggest beach number and varieties of possiveis waves of if finding. The most diverse wonders are here... are alone to know to use to advantage and to be in the certain place in the alias process. If to need some touch can order email to me oliver_thies@hotmail.com

THE REAL BONETE
Bonete, is just a beatiful beach with world class waves.....When I went there, there was no localism and only 2 guys in the water that were very nice....The key about the place is: RESPECT TO BE RESPECTED.....and that is all!!!!!!!

Dangerous place... go at your own risk...
Looks like this guy Felipe is talking about a diferent place than the real Bonete. Dificult access, no hospitals there, heavy localism (about 40 bad-attitude-locals surfers live there), the waves are not as good as Maresias and Paúba...

Surfer´s Heaven is just like that...
I went to this wonderful beach many years ago and I got there walking through the Rain Forest during a very hot summer... man, i walked about 10 hours non-stop and the sun was setting when we arrived. The sea was completely flat (as usual in summertime) and we thought we were going to swin and dive a lot but no surfing was expected.
The next morning was rainny and there were 3 feet stormy waves but... as any other surfer... we went surfing anyway... suddenly the waves became bigger and bigger and bigger... and three hours later we were surfing about 9 feet high waves, but still stormy and scary waves. We were frightenned to death but stil surfing... The next day was a pretty summer sunny day and the waves were about 6 or 8 feet high and perfect tubes where there just for three lucky guys...the water is clear and the beach is completely wild. There is a fishermem colony there an no eletricity or telephones or hotels where u can stay but the fishermen are very polite and kind... if are a good dealer u can rent one room at their own houses and surf alone (except for the two local surfers) with your buddies...It´s everything we (surfer´s) dream at night an long to find during the day. Good lucky, respect the locals and go fo fun...

Respect the place !!!
Surfers, it's true that this is such a special place, blessed by god... But if you're going to Bonete, it's very important to respect the place. Respect the place means: RESPECT THE NATURE ! RESPECT THE LOCAL COMUNITY !
Rememeber you're a strange there, this place don't belong to you, so be a good guest, and you'll always be able to come back... if you don't be a good guest, well be carefull .. the local people will make you understand you're not welcome there.

LONG LIVE SURF SOUL !!!

good waves, but very hard to surf
guys, i know the place and there are very great waves. The problem is the localism. There are 80 surfers living at Bonete and they do not like outsiders. Even the brazilians have problems to surf there. The local like to still or brake the visiters boards. So be careful there. They do not like gringos at all.
