Go to Pontal do Atalaia - in the city of Arraial do Cabo. Park the car in the Mirante and walk down the cliff by a long rock ladder. Do not leave your bellongings in the car. Thieves around.
If there is a good size SE swell, bring your semi-gun. Take some time looking at the spot from the parking place. Maybe in a first look you will not see the Big Set waves (in the outside of the left corner of the Beach) which are the real good ones. In small days you can surf many peaks along the beach but you will only feel the thrill in the big days when the lefts are pumping in the left outside corner. When it is big take care with the rips that can push you away from the line up. Pay attention not to lose the beach from sight because you can have problems to leave the water. With high tide the beach can disapear.
Go for it and get incredibly barreled.

Very good vibe. Marvelous views and nature. Coldest water in the region and possibly in Brazil. There is a Phenomena named ressurgęncia that brings the cool deep water to the surface in this spot. Bring your diving gear.

One of the best spots in Rio if you have the willingness for it.

Mystical prahia
went walking on january 2007 with my friend. A long distance, but it was grate, we spend all morning alone on the beach, which had only 20 mts of sand from side to side. Small but powerfull waves, more than one`s toke our shorts leaving us halfnaked. Our camara culdnīt take a picture right, there was something about that prahia that woldnīt let us have a deacent picture. Definitively Mystical!!

Unfortunately the waves did not show up along the week of the holiday, but the sights, boat riding and daylight sunbaking at the beach definetly worth the trip. Looking forward to hitting the road towards this spot again and hopefully get the taste of the waves. Go for it, you won't regret it!
