Itauna Beach, Saquarema
Itauna beach: beautiful chilled out relaxed place - great break from Rio if all the traffic is driving you nuts and you need a time out! Pousada Espuma is the place to go-Fatima and her family are wonderful, food is excellent, good rates, spotlessly clean place and not busy this time of year so you don´t have to deal with a million and one traveller questions/interrogations!! Lovely back garden-gate leads u straight onto beach. Ignore lonely planet- Itauna Inn smells of mould and is drab!!

Magic place, magic waves. Near Vila we have others good spots, conecting Maricá to Saquarema. Search for Jaconé and Ponta Negra.
