It`s located in Barra da Tijuca Beach in front of Barra Golden Green buildings. Between Barrabella Apart Hotel and Lifeguard Station 07.
Don't ask for Vala do Mauri, nobody knows who is or was this guy. Some say that he was a local in 70`s who took the best barrels ever seen there.

Have a parking lot along all Barra da Tijuca Beach. Is very easy to park there during the season(Apr-Nov).

Good vibes - I surfed this spot last week. The waves were great, the water warm and clear. Looking forward for a new south swell.

Vala do Mauri - This is a great spot for several reasons: lots of parking space, not a great crowd surfing nor people bathing and it isn't far from the main part of the city.I enjoy surfing there and have never seen any sign of localism. The only negative is that, unlike other spots in Rio, there aren´t girls in any great number. As for the name of the spot, it´s a mistery for me, though people say that there is a Mauri living nearby.
