Texas is a rare break also; how much worse can this paradise be? When is the best time to plan a surfing vacation in Rio? More specifically I'm looking for the least crowded, most like Jbay w/size matters, & cleanest blue waters! Are the local naked chicks doable, the ones on the clean sandy beaches w/ no tan lines on their sexy bodies, I'm hoping they like Americans from the Gulf of Mexico!! Is Brazilian the same language/dialect as Mexican slang? iMuchas gracias!

Forget it Once or twice a year itīs a perfect 6 feet right point break wave that looks like J-Bay. The rest of the year itīs flat. All the time itīs impossibly crowded and ridiculously dirty. It will be a good spot when mankind is erased from the face of the earth. Before that happens, go find surf elsewhere!

Itapuca just had the best swell ever. I live in niteroi and there waves all over the beach 2 meters perfect waves.

nasty water I lived in Niteroi for a few years and I tell you the water at this place is nasty. There is raw sewage and trash throughout the water. Not a place to be unless you like dirty water.

Guess what Itapuca is no longer available surfing. In these days, the smaller sight of waves produces a fucking impossible-to-be-happy crowd. Lots of people for only a few waves.Iīve hit it other day, in a week-day in the middle of the afternoom. It was an ordinary day, the waves were far from the best it gets, and there were at least 40 guys out there. In Tapete it was really impossible, every wave 3 or 4 newcomers sneaking. This is because Iīm local.Forget it. Now I only surf Itapuca during the night.

Itapuca, when itīs on, is the best break in all the Rio de Janeiro region. I live 1 km from it, learned to surf there 5 years ago and Iīm always surfing there. If the sea gets to 8+ feet, donīt waste your time and come to Itapuca. Youīll find very long rights. Veeery big crowds.
