all in all worth it
The waves can be exceptionally great, or just terrible. If you have any luck, there will be barrels, and this is pretty fun. The girls in this beach are nothinbg like any other, just HOT beyond recognition

powerfull- inconsistent
aways powerfull, best after south, sw swells witch shakes the sand bars. sometimes it can just dont work. anyway the most beautiful beach in rio nice girls, party, w..d...

look out
the heaviest wave in RJ for sure.. this is not for begginers!! and wait for your turn to catch yours or u may find some trouble with the locals..

Just go out there, sunny sunday and get a huge barrel!!! 100 girls gonna come to aks your name.... Strong, fast and hollower wave in Rio, take care with rips or you just come back to sand by helicopter.

Boogers' paradise. Really heavy barrel. Challenging and for experienced surfers only. There are other good waves in Niteroi there is a world class point break that I forgot the name: "Itapuca", maybe.

Pawerfull waves
I'm from Brazil, but until today I've never surfed Itacoatira. Just to see the photos I can say that's the powerfull brazilian wave (this spot is similar than Puerto Escondido, place I've surfed in 2002).
