to surf at floripa - hey mates! i was at floripa in october 2007...mmm not so good. bad luck i think. well for surf here you need 3/2 wetsuit in winter time and your shorter board. always check the wind because its the main fact for waves, so if you have some south wind go for the souther waves, or if you have north wind go to the north...and good luck in the search.

Great Place - Plenty of waves here for everyone. It is only crowded out front of the Lifeguard tower. I was here in December of 04 and there was lots of good surf, beautiful girls, and a relaxing atmosphere. There are peaks up and down about 2.5 miles of beach. You can always get a peak to yourself or at least back then. I surfed this place more than anywhere else on the Island. But don't get me wrong there is surf all over so don't be afraid to explore. There is a club called Cascaus or something like that at the top of the hill above the main parking lot. The place has more hot chicks than you know what to do with. Give it a shot and try a speak a little portugues to them and you might get rewarded. I sure did!!!!

Not ranked well - Santinho is one of the TOP 4 places to surf in Florianópolis. A classic regional, with the right conditions it is dificult to find waves with it's quality, it can hold up to 8ft ore more when the swell direction is right.
At the left hand side of the beach has a wolrd class point break just behind the rocks, with rides longer than 300mts, good barrels e good power.
Is good to respect the locals, things can get ugly for you, i saw boards being smashed against it's woner's face.

Really not sloopy - i only know waves from santa catarina state, so i cant say hows santinho looks like comparing to international spots, but if praia mole takes 3 stars, santinho takes it too.

Not sloppy - The wave quality is good, you can even call it a regional classic. Got it 6 feet some times, good tubes, long rides, arms turned to noodles by the paddling... one of the best places in the island!
