Masonborough Island Access |

This spot used to be nice, 5 years ago and prior. Now it is more crowded than Wrightsville, particularly when the wind is from the north. I have surfed in Cali, costa rica, mexico, and puerto rico. Mas is the most crowded and harbors some of the worst vibes. The locals are pissed that the spot blew up. If they don't scare you, the sharks will! |

| | You probably need a boat unless you are nuts enough to paddle across masonboro inlet and dodge the heavy boat traffic. The paddle out can be easy or you can throw anchor on the other side of the swell and paddle in. On a RARE day you might have some great surf to yourself. Otherwise, prepare to watch others drop in on you

Mostly a bad vibe, particularly when the good hurricane swell comes in. During peak season, every local lowlife comes out of the woodwork and claims to own the island. |
