Why trash Sobe? - Why the negativity? If you live here, South Point is a classic surfspot. We had a hell of a Winter and i'm looking forward to 2004 'Cane Season . I know we don't have the luxury to drive out to the beach and find a break any day out of the week like you west coasters do. But that just makes us more hungry and passionate about the sport. And when we hear people talk smack about our beach we normally will get upset.

To many groms, - About twice a year i make the journey from The Florida Keys to hit up 1st street, its no soup bowls in barbados, and its way to croweded for the size of the waves, but still a dope spot to break the nose of your board off in some groms ass, after he drops in on the one good wave of the day, 2 inches in front of you, the swell at hollover right down the road is much better, but again 300 gremlins riding one 3 foot wave can cause havock. Drop fast, drop hard, and drop on anything, if you dont some little prick will, only good way to take the waters back from the raging 14 year olds is to bang that soccer mom hes got picking him up at 5pm. Cool site, you can email me when 1st street is going off save me the buck a day on surfline and ill eliminate your path to a grom free surf environment, peace

South Beach... Or South America - I cant even stand surfing down ere when there are waves cause you take one wave and the spanish guys are all over you...thats okay... but when you return the favor and drop in on them you will get your lights punched out... then the cubans riot onthe streets of miami cause one of their people didnt get every single wave... anixation of south florida is what we should do cause its not north america, its south america... stay out of the water spanish guys or learn to control your tempers its surfing not one of the soccer games where you guys brawl!!!!!! Fuck em

The Ausie - Doubble M , Thats a good way to look at it... Im not saying South beach is good place to surf. Im just saying its the only place arround here, Palm Beach, its ok too.. I lived in Costa Rica, and the place is great.. The only bad thing is too many Howleys are going there now..

Any American Indians Still living in South Beach; Thats right, the Howlies killed them all and took their country...

well, there are actually waves in South Florida - you just have to be patient and persistent in their pursuit i.e. stay on top whether anything is going on or not. I have seen 8 ft high waves at South Beach(3/81) and beautiful overhead rights breaking off Commercial Pier in Ft. Lauderdale(10/87) and 10-12 foot lefts at Pump House -- hmmm what year?? October maybe 1991? early 90's? just got back into it so I am sure I have missed a ton of great days. Surf upcoast as much as possible and ride 'em when we got 'em down here!
