Localism is for idiots - I'm relocating from NJ to South Beach in a month. I hope to get some good surf here and there without having to drive up the coast. I have read mindless bickering about localism and what not in the lineup here. Localism is immature, unneccesary, and unfortunately all-too present. It defeats the idea of what surfing is all about; a non-violent, naturalistic, experience of pure pleasure. Pugilistic terratorialism only makes the experience poor for all. The ocean belongs to no man. It sends us gifts in the waves that we ride. Those gifts should be shared. As long as those in the water practice ettiquette, thewy should be respected. A local pecking order is one thing, constant tension is another.

Miami surf? Nice try. - I'm from Hawaii and it amazes me that there are kooks here who think there is surf in Miami. 1-there is no surf in Miami, 2-the people here are tards, 3-there is no surf in Miami! You've got bad drivers, people who think they can surf, and people who don't speak English but think they own the place. Wanna surf? Go somewhere else. Miami sucks! Get real!

south beach - You guys are better going to mainland mexico, puerto rico, costa rica, panama, nicaragua, or el salvador instead of driving yourself nuts waiting around for waist high slop. All these places are a relatively short flight away
Any Hawaiians in Miami? - Whats up? I am from Kahana Hawaii but live in Gulf coast of Florida moving to Miami for a job but wanting to know if there are any true Hawaiians in Miami to surf w/ we have a few hawaiians around here that surf together.

Typical South Beach Chop - This "chop" is not "typical" of south florida. Its slightly better than average. Typical is flat with thigh-waist high swells...
