i have seen the south side look like a perfect point break, just as any long time local has who's been surfing and watching the spot for years. doesn't get perfect like that often, but when it does, loooooong lefts peel off the jetty and roll all the way to the sand. if you don't live here and don't know the spot well, then your chances of catching it like that are very slim, so don't make the drive thinking you're gonna catch perfect point surf. still a stand-out spot on average days. very sharky (like all breaks in this area, maybe a little more so with all the bait flowing out of the inlet). show respect, wait your turn, stay out of people's way, and don't waste the waves you paddle for and nobody should give you any trouble.

kooks look else where simple, stay in boca, dont surf the first peak, and have respect. if your not from here dont expect to get on the peak and think your all tough. this has always been a local spot and will remain so forever! so go to the peir if you cant hang!

locals only!! If you didn't grow up here don't surf here! Localism is taken seriously when KOOKS get in the way! There is only one or two good peaks near the jetty and if you don't know what you are doing you will get worked, both in the water and out! One cut off might be your last. If your looking for a wave that is decient head south twoards the peir on any given swell. You will have to paddle a little more but the sandbar stays the same with individual peaks here and there, and you will be able to get some better waves because the fact is that we have put our time in at inlet and will not let an unfarmiliar face slide in on a bomb. Oh ya, watch for sharks, and stay out of the bait pods!
