Spot isn't the best but it seems its day locals are kind of protective but as long as you aren't being a jerk then you will be fine. Basically on a swell it's a left, mostly closeouts. But if you pick the right wave it can be fun. It's a fun chop break which then breaks both ways.
Pompano Local
Second Street is a fast Hollow wave and demands quick reflexes. I have been surfing for 30 years in Florida and have never had a problem at any other breaks. From Trip Freeman Mebourne to Mark Mertins.( Ft lauderdale.

2NDST.A GOOD SPOT WHEN THERES WAVES.I GREW UP SURFING THAT SPOT. A LOT OF KOOKS BUT IF U SURF GOOD DONT SWEAT SHIT.THE PEOPLE THERE ARE COOL,DONT KNOW IF ITS THE SAME CROWD FROM WHEN I LIVED IN S.FLA.MOST OF THEM MOVED WHERE THERES WAVES BUT I REMEMBER SOME GOOD SWELL FITTING IN THERE BARRELS THERE YOU COULD FIT A MINIVAN IN NOT COMMON BUT DOES HAPPEN.

oh, and I've seen those 2nd street stickers on boards at spots well north of pompano; those guys do not respect the locals at the spots they travel to; so, if you actually decide to travel to surf this spot, give 'em hell.
