From Penninsula Charleston SC go south on US 17 until you get to Folly Rd. Signs point left to Folly Beach. Take the left and it is about 12 miles. Go straight and take a left the traffic light by McKevlins Surf Shop; two miles further on the right is the Washout. Ask the locals, they are pretty cool.
local
ya, no one's gonna plan a surf trip folly beach. it's inconsistent and usually no good (like most of the east coast). but we DO get waves, and when folly is on it's a blast.

To "Crack"
hey Crack, you obviously don't know anything about SC, or Folly in particular. I'm from the Pacific Northwest, and spent 8 months during the summer, fall and winter at Washouts. While not as consistent as the Left Coast, I was surprised at the overall consistency. The wave also has some quality and some power. Enough power to make any surfer happy. You probably are some Cali barney who's never surfed there, and wanted to bag on the East Coast. Grow up, grow a sack and get off yer bellyboard.
