Middles Access |
| |
The spot is within 200 yards of the North Beach Campground beachfront dunes. If you have 4x4 that will be easy to get to and find. If not, finding parking might be tough, but I've done it. |

Additional Surfing Infos |
| | This spot is a lot like S-turns, nice hollow peaks. There are usually a couple nice peaks breaking out there on a good day with light or offshore winds. Where to park your car is tough. Off and mid-season you might be able to get away with park on a side street somewhere after the only gas station in town, mac's texaco. Summer you are going to have to bring your sandals and walk a little. Best bet would be park at s-turns and if it is jammed just walk south until you are about a 1/2 mile past the furthest sticking out house on the Atlantic seaboard. Trust me you will see it, it is also the last house before the dunes take over.

Overview |
| |
Atmosphere |
This spot is between the two most spoken about spots in Rodanthe, S-turns and the pier. There are definitely some guys who have it wired, especially during summer. For a good reason to, it is always less crowded than s-turns and the vibe is much more chill. In return you might be giving a little bit of wave quality and consistency up, but still more rides than you can get if S-turns is jammed (30 plus heads easy) & hostile. I've seen 1 local start shit with 3 guys in less than an hour, giving me one good reason to go to Middles. Listening to rowdy locals there can be a buzz killer, explore... Peace out!!! |

General |
Fun spot, if there is a swell and you catch it anytime during the day on the incoming tide it can be consistent, powerful and hollow. Key to the spot though is light winds, if you are lucky you will get a good glassy weekend or few days with either light onshores or offshores. If there is a lot of wind, don't bother it will be fast closeouts, and to much effort to get there. Only seen it in the 3-7 foot range but it could definitely handle more. Hurricane swell is A-frame, thick shoulders. |
