when going towards duck go through the town and look to right just outside of the town you will see the pier its by the duck fire dept. and pass it and you with see a road to the right just passed it. turn here follow it down to the beach and you will see parking area but dont park there you will get towed! so find a house that is a rental and ask if you can park in there driveway or wherever. and they're nice so most of the will let you.and walk to the beach and see the waves and go surfing! Alternative: well when you drive north towards corolla you will see a town called duke from there stop at the surf shop and ask how to get to barrier island restraunt. once there park and walk over to the beach, but watch don't let people see you get out of a out of state car you don't want to be labeled.then walk north and you will see the pier walk fast. the researchers are usually cool so walk to the pier and paddle out and be prepared.
duck
duck pier gets smokin, can be the best wave on the outer banks at times, anything north of duck isnt any better than VB

yeah, I agree about the wave power being less than down south. I grew up on the banks and only caught it good a couple of times. Never saw a shark out there. All of the southern shore, duck, and corrola areas are not as good as southern beaches unless things have changed, which is possible.
