The Sugar Shack Surf area sucks and it alwayz will. The pier is much better as well as 18th street jetty. Fort Screven is alwayz flat. It only gets good on a big swell especially in the winter.

I have paddled out at the 5th street jetty on St. Simons and it has been well over head. We can get nice hurricane swells that get over head high.
