Locals
You have to stand up to them. Nothing pisses me off more than to see a bunch of guys do what they say. They are a bunch of pussys and all they'll do is try and intimidate you. They aren't willing to fight you. Don't go where they tell you to go. Surf where you want.

One time I thought I saw a eel, but then I realized it was a mermaid! We then let the rip take me and her to the end of the jetty were we kissed under the stormy clouds.

surfboard smash
I was there a few weekends ago and watched a couple guys hike out on the jetty pretty far out there. SO I busted out the binochs and watched them. They had trouble getting down and the first dude almost got in and a swell hit him and threw him into the rocks after they both scrambled in and got a pretty good size wave. I was pretty impressed by there skill when they got in the first guy was carrying his board overhead 9" fin hangin off and the back of the board smashed in. I was like he surfed in on that holy crap. I went and asked him if he was bummed he just smile and said that was the best wave he had cuaght in 3 months and it was totally worth it.
You surfers are something else and you have my respect.
So surf on and be safe.

It can be kinda freaky sometimes when you look down and see a dark figure underwater passing beneath your board. Then a seal head pops up and your heart rate goes back to normal cause it isn't a shark. I once got smacked by a jumping king salmon sufing the Klamath river mouth in Northern CA.

what the
I was kickin it last week surfing chilling with the buds on the beach and we look up and this dudes got his wetsuit hangin off and hes poopin, yeah I said it, poopin right on the beach in front of us. I was like dude your pooin man, your pooin right in front of me. than he waved yanked the suit back on and ran into the sunset. Luckily my buddys dog took care of the problem so his dog saved everyone from steppin on some crazed poopin surfers poop.

It's the ocean
A few weeks ago at the jetty I saw seals and porpoises. I was paddling out down the beach a bit from the jetty and I saw a seal looking at me, just it's head out of the water about 20 yds away. A few minutes later, I saw a porpoise. It wasn't a seal, either, I was close enough to identify it.

I think it's cool just to be out there catching waves among these critters, but I'm not into getting bit by any eel or anything else with alot of teeth, that's for sure.
