Take 101 S out of Newport. Take your first right after you cross the bridge. When you see the Dive & Bate shop, hook a left. Follow the road all the way out untill you hit gravell. Park, walk up the dunes just south of the jetty to get a look at the surf.
If the swell is coming in NW at all the further south you walk down the beach the more the swell will penetrate.

when the tide starts pulling out watch the rip by the jetty, don't want to get sucked out.

One day we pulled up and it didn't look very good, it does that alot and it's allways bigger than it looks from the dunes. we paddled out just to have a good time, when we got out it was like we had been transported to a cold water indo. over head rights, and lefts just cept rolling through. the sun was setting so it lit up the waves. we surfed five hours straight... best day ever...
