Park in the beach lot at the south end of town... You'll be right at the base of the point....leave an armed guard at your car if you don't have Oregon license plates....Take mace or a waterproof 9mm out to the break with you.....Don't take any trouble from anybody and let them know you're armed!....Good Luck!

Incredible perfect peeling point lefts in a woodsy Pacific Northwest setting....Cobblestone shore and a great cove inside with even more fun surf!...Only rode it once but caught some wonderful waves....Very cold...water and air...most of the year but if the surfs up.....

world class point break with some world class assholes frequenting there.....if the guy in the battered volvo wagon doesn't get you....maybe a rogue great white shark will!
My first time surfing the Cove, even though I lived in Seaside back in '96. Since I worked in CB I usually would go to shortys or Indian. Checked out the point/cove Sat, Sun and Mon of Memorial day wknd and finally put on the cold wet More...

what makes me laugh at all the boys at the point is how serious they get. look, seaside doesn't hold sh*t above about 6 feet. (that's 12-14 feet for all you haoles) it's NOT GNARLY. you see all these "big bad locals" who haven't surfed anything over about 6 feet in there lives! oregon starts closing out at about 6 feet! i lost my mind for 4 years there with 12-14 foot surf, offshore winds, and no point breaks or reefs that could handle the size!!!!! i paddled out on the southside of some crazy headland and got some out of control open ocean breaks i was so sick of it!!!
if you want to man up and get crazy, man up and get crazy about something big and gnarly.
oh yeah, i forgot. its usually the guys who can't handle when the waves are crankin' and the konas are blowing who get all crazy about "localism." grow up haoles, and while your at it grow a pair of balls. that's why i stick with the outer reefs nowdays.

I'll never claim that shit break that works two times outta the year, and i deal with more kooks like you in the water everyday, than you see in a year.
