Atmosphere

This is big windsurfing/kiteboarding spot in the summer. In those months go in the morning because the wind starts to build around noon and you can expect 20 plus by 4pm. Locals are pretty friendly unless you do something stupid. Seals are always checking you out. Remember the water is cold.

General

The great thing about South Jetty is that a few times a year you'll find perfect 7-10 foot waves and only about 5-10 people to share them with.

Inside the river mouth? - I was visiting my mom in Florence recently - no stick or suit, so I just watched. Nobody was surfing inside the jetty, in the river. What conditions do you need for that to be surfable?
