Boards on car racks
When you say "put your boards on your beater car backwards" I hope you know that putting your boards on your rack backwards in more aerodynamic. Fins first kook. Try it both ways on the freeway at 70 miles an hour and you'll see what I'm talking about. When you're trying to talk smack, try to not sound like a kook. Thank you very much.

another rescue
weekend before last another "surfer" had to be pulled from the rip, at about the same time that two kids further north drowned. To all you newbs and johnny-come-latelies: please, exercise some JUDGEMENT before you just blindly hop in the water! Take a few minutes and observe, and if there's any question in your mind--return your rental board (or strap your beater on top of your car backwards) and come back another day! It's not someone else's responsibility to come rescue you from the rip!!!

Nothing like Cowells
The wave is a bit like Cowells but the crowds sure are not. You must be from cali to even use that reference. This is a good spot with good people, if your too good for it go to Boiler Bay or Seaside. This spot hosts a variety of waves, in a variety of conditions. Best learning with glass/light N or E wind and small ground swells. This spot will be flat with N or NW wind swell. Beutiful setting and nice camping at Beverly Beach.

Not the greatest break in oregon, but it is forgiving. Which makes it perfect for beginners. When it does get good, the old farts come out of their caves and take over the peaks. They're usually pretty inconsiderate of the lineup. If you don't know what you're doing out there, avoid the rip on the north of the cove.

used to be...
Otter used to be a cool little spot that was fun to learn at and to relax and ride mellow waves. not anymore. sites and reports like this have guaranteed that it will be as crowded as Cowell's any weekend. There will be at least one person in the water every day of the year, no matter what the conditions or common sense dictate. Its no longer mellow, fun, or friendly, all due to too many people.
