Additional Surfing Infos
To get in the water from the parking lot you have to hike down a pretty steep cliff and negotiate your way through large boulders and rocks everywhere. Its a pretty decent paddle on a big day, at least it is if you paddle out right. Do not try to paddle out next to the point there is a "Death Zone" where you can find yourself pinned against the rocks and getting hit hard by the waves, do yourself a favor and paddle out the long way.
  Overview
Atmosphere Spot can be one of the best on the east coast when its on. Has been described as the J-Bay of the East, but this occurs very very rarely when 5 or 6 sections connect to create an unbleivable ride. Usually up to 3 sections connect and its a great wave. Shark hazard is only a precaution not talking Florida danger here. The was a shark the hung around for about 3 weeks a couple years back but that didn't stop the surfers from paddling out. The south side of the Point is a very dangerous area, as if the other side is any safer. The south side can only be surfed on really really big swells and is almost like a completly different wave. You'll probably get stink eyed by some of the locals, mainly the young groms and/or older guys.
General Great spot can be epic.

world class?
yea right, in your dreams. should not even be called a pointbreak as it takes a "mysto" swell direction (i havent seen it line more than 2 sections in a few years now). still can hold good size. sit on the peak by the parking lot and try to airdrop off the boil into the barrel. bring tnt to blow up some of the rocks.

etiquette?
to the people who keep bragging about how much better their wave is than this one... quit it. no matter how well known a wave is, you keep you mouth shut. if i ever heard someone bragging about my home break, that would be the last time they ever surfed there.
