Mantoloking surfing - Surfing the beaches of Mantoloking is way fun! The sandbars are shifty and sometimes the conditions aren't too good but when the waves, sandbars, and winds are just right-- Manto is easily one of the best surf spots in Jersey. The water is very clean, the water always seems warmer than neighboring surfspots, the beach is beautiful and whenever you aren't surfing, you can gaze at the wonderful oceanfront homes and the nice sand dunes. I recommend going at mid/incoming tide-- beaches off Lyman, Downer, Princeton and every other street are all about equal. Going after 4pm in the summer should warrant lower crowds and you don't have to purchase a badge. Mantoloking, all in all, is my favorite surf spot along the Jersey Shore

- who put up the pic ?
Mantoloking - Great waves, shifty sandbar, no crowds. Grew up surfing Lyman Ave. Crowded day was six people.Miss that spot.
Where is everyone?!! - This place works and hits big when manasquan is small. No crowd, pick your spot and enjoy! On 3-5' days sets with 8'+ faces steam roll in, don't get caught inside. Fast powerful rights all day, with short punchy lefts. How come nobody else knows about this spot? NJ's best kept secret!!!!!
My birth spot - Off of Lyman Ave. is where I first learned to ride. TOTALLY dependent on the swell and sandbars. Great in the morning with all the touroids asleep or still cruising Seaside.
