- LB is good early in the morning or right before and during twilight. Other then that in the summer its swamped by bennys and the upper crust garbage from elberon. When it is that crowed i would say head south to deal casino or loch arbour

the pipe - the pipe is nasty. some of the nicest rides ive ever had were here. when its offshore and swell's decent, sit right out past the pipe and wait for sets to roll in. the drop is kinda sketchy because of the backwash coming off the pipe but if you stick it you're in for a long ride into the beach. watch out for rocks though during higher tides, they'll definitely ruin your day

Take me back the the late 80's early 90's - This place was awsome until the ACE came in and pumped the sand. There were so many good waves at north end, in the park, by the busted up pier and to the south end of the pit. Now its all gone so I moved out and down south a bit to eastern Ocean twp. still good waves to be had... bring on the Hurricanes!

LB isnt just the Pit - LB isnt just all about the Pit aiight boys. You can also head down to Pier Village or 7 Presidents. But anyway keep talkin bout PIT because it is shitty on days so yea all you surfers go there. Ill just stay in my own spot BETTER than that piece of ass beach.

anyway.. had lunch at the pier yesterday (the new shops and such).. where is a good spot in relation to the pier?

i love to go early in the morning so im assuming i could get a sweet spot and get in from there...

just passing thru - I just lived in long branch for about a month and I must say that i was pleasantly suprised with the surf while i was there. Even though the water was 40 degrees and you needed a very thick suit the surf was fun. I am fronm cali and was shocked to see the 3 foot mini barrels on what i though was going to be a gutless wave. On 4/24 the surf was gangbusters, and uncrowded. I padded out by myself into 6-9 foot barreling surf and was only joined by one other local guy. I hear that localism is strong at these breaks, espically when there is a lull. But all i can say is there was no localism because everytime i paddeled out i was alone or only one of 3 in the water
