| | Superb spot for the big winter swell because of the sand bar and relatively deep water with the tides. Summer months are inconsistent and you need to get rare storms to kick it up. Fall, winter are the best months with huge swell from hurricanes, nor'easters and average winter storms. Spring can pack a punch, but inconsistent like summer.

Be respectful to the locals, sometimes they've been known to be a little rough, because most of the residents have been there for a long time. Sometimes the surrounding beaches can break better because of the shifting sand bar, but 5th street is in the center of Beach Haven, which means a bar is just a short walk away. |
