i live here - i have a house on 3rd street in normandy beach. the little crowds that come usually come at 10:30 ish. theres usually nice sized waves and the people there are friendly. Best time to go is like 5:00 because there arent really people on the beach and the life guards leave about that time.
- only photo #3 is normandy and is mike hunter @pennicinnis left. The rest are shots of Belmar that he took.
sandbar keeps shifting! - I surf Normandy beach all the time. This year 04 it has not been holding well at all. Normandy shores was the only decent sandbar in early to mid summer. Later this summer I found that right out front of sixth ave it held up pretty well. And finnaly one of my favorite spots there started to work, Pennicinis left. Normandys fun but i think going north to the jetty breaks is your best bet.
c-beach - ist fun here packed with asshole lifeguards in the summer but a great place 2 score chicks and good waves.
Normandy - I live 5 blocks down from 7th street and i would suggest going to silver the breaks are much better and there are some great surfers. Today was amazing
Nice Place - It is a nice town and break if you like beach breaks... It has a second break a little ways off the beach.. I had an opportunity to get there last summer. Hopefully again this summer. As far as getting on it is private but after the gaurds are off it is wide open and you only have to pay a modest fee when they are there.... Nice group of people, OK surfers, a lot of Kids....I wish NJ had a point break, and I do nto mean PP Beach.......
7/20/01 SURFED NORMANDY TODAY - WATER TEMP. WAS WARM . THE SETS WOULD COME FROM OUT IN THE OPEN SEA. NICE SIZED WAVES DOUBLE AND TRIPLE THE SIZE OF THE ONES AT MANSQUAN INLET... NORMANY HAD FEW PEOPLE , NICE FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE BUT MANASQUAN WAS SUPER CROWDED AND THE WAVES SUCKED THERE WERE LIKE 70 SURFERS ( BODYBOARDS MOSTLY) AT NORMANDY AT NOON THERE WAS ABOUT 15 SURFERS ( LONGBOARD AND A FEW KAYAKS) BUT BY 3PM THE "TINY" CROWD WAS GONE.... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND , THERE ALSO A $5 CHARGE PER PERSON , NO DOGS ALLOWED AND PARKING IS OFF STREET AND NO COOLERS OR FOOD ALLOWED ON BEACH... LOTS OF LIFE GUARDS ALSO.
