Dominant Swell and Wind Direction :
Typical swells are S and NE windswells with anything inbetween and the occasional longer period hurricane swells and lingering background swells and oh yeah flatness. Winds are lightest in summer with afternoon S seabreezes. The winds usually stay offshore more in fall and winter after storms and can get quite gusty from late fall-early spring. There is usually always wind at some point in the day, and there is no usual- jersey has extremely variable swell, wind, and weather, be prepared for 52 degree water in july and 75 degree air in january.
