Look out for the blue claw crabs and rich people. Try to hang near the pussywillows, it's where the swell likes to break
Overview
Atmosphere
The water is kind of murkey, but it's clean. Most people go to closer access breaks when the swell gets big, but georgica pond is bigger and more hollow then anywhere on Long Island
General
Snapping turtles hurt when they bhite you, stay away from the mud. It's a great place to take dates at night. Beach fires are allowed and it's very romantic. I take my bf's here all the time
the description is wrong
ok so georgica pond is not that close sag main beach or georgica beach, georgica pond is closest to beach lane and it breaks off of the last east hampton village jetty which is the 3rd jetty, it seems like people in the description were writing about sag pond, and georgica pond is seprate from the ocean its just that about twice a year the cut the pond to the ocean which makes a nice sand bar there, this cleans out the pond.

it is pumpin
I was in Georgica Beach in September with a friend that did not surf. I had my wet suit and booties but no board. They rent a Robert August long board at Main beach in Wainscott. So I went down to Georgica beach. The lefts were pealing off at the jetty, and one dude on a red pig swallow tail (correct me if I am wrong) was getting punchy little 3 foot lefts into the beach. My friend and I went into the water and the rip tide was pulling hard but I managed to swim out to the inner break with the dude on the pig. Body surfed a wave in and got sucked down 200 yards in chilly water. Then out in the distance there was another break, at least 6 to 8 foot faces on A framed peaks you could take right or left. It was definately a spot for someone who was not a total kook. The place was clean and pumpin. So I took a shot of myself on a large tree that washed on shore in a classic crouched position goofy foot just for the fun of it. EMBRACE SURF CULTURE ALL THE WAY
