there is basically no parking on the neighborhood streets around this spot, so its best to go with a friend, drop your stuff off at the spot (end of 149th street) and then go park at jacob riis lot ($6 during summer 9-6). 1/2 mile walk from parking lot back to spot.

I've been going here for several years when 92nd street gets totally ridiculous. Learned about the spot from some friendly Rockaway locals at 92nd too, but occasionally I've run into nasty attitude at this spot. Not from the nudists-- they are A OK-- just want to walk around showing butt and sipping beer. Fine. But WHOLE FAMILIES on the beach giving you a nasty look when you walk up on their perfect empty spot?! Even had a Dad shout "Go Home!" at me an my girl when we were just checking out the break once. This spot is in NYC! They're just lucky more people don't know about it.
