Lefts and Rights
Great place! Bigger is better. The right is even better than the left when it goes. I am jaded thought cause I am regular-foot. One fun thing to to do and get a good workout in is to enter the water at Lanis or Chuns if the drift is going toward Sunset or opposite, get in at the Bay. Then surf all the breaks from one place to the next. Takes two trucks so you can get back to the start point. I like the Bay trip which gives you all rights starting with Uppers, then 5-0's. Follow that up with Mary Janes, and Gators. Then do Leftovers (but take a right. Pass up Pidd's and go to Chuns to blast a nice right. Cross the channel to Jocko's and take a nice right on a big one then to Holtons. Cross the channel and make a perfect Lani's right and then get out of the water! Great day!!

car theft sucks
haven't had my car broken into on the north shore yet (knock on wood!) but that's really unfortunate that it apparently happens so often here. there's not too much use going here anyway unless you have a longboard. leftovers is like ala moana-meets-the-country...longboarders getting all the waves and shortboarders SOL. beautiful place though. aloha

lefovers the perfect spot.

I like
This is an awesome site, I grew up surfing at leftovers, Himalya, Pipe Sunset, Rock Piles, Bowls, Dimond Head, but Leftovers was my bestest spot. I would like to see more pictures of the spot, because I now live in the mainland and miss surfing.

not worth your board
this place is so fickle it can change before your very eyes with the slightest tide diff. When its low tide it closes out and its very shallow with no room to duck dive on the inside. The longboarders have an easy slopey takeoff so they can get it out 20 yards before you and then they have trouble cutting out when it starts to dump and guess what ,you get smacked by there board. Then when you come in theres no ez way you have to walk over the reef and hope you dont step on a see urchin or in a hole. Dont bring a new board to this place I fix a ding once a week. The only thing that good is its not as crowded because everyone is down at world class spots like Lani's and Chuns

Respect the locals or go away!!!!
If you don't understand "local" let me give you the definition. People who surf this spot all the time big or small good or bad Monday thru Sunday. If you have this all aggro attitude take it to Rocky's or Lani's. There are a select few that have put years in at this break and they have and deserve priority. Respect or go away!!!!

that guy rips
we call him the 360 man cause he does'm all the time. Isn't his name Steve Church. Hes out there on everyswell, dawning it-does he even have a job-cause hes always there , and always first out. One day I got there 30min before sun up just to be first, and his car wasn't there so I started to paddle out and he was just jumping in the water. I think must have been a contest surfer cause he milks every wave and he constantly riding one, he goes for anything . Could be 8ft on the outside and hill whip around for a juicy 2ft - I call that an addiction

walk there if you can
The north shore has 132 car break-ins a month(people need ice money) not all of them are at leftovers, but at least 1/4 of them are. you cant see your car from the road and they just park next to you. I just leave mar car unlocked and the last time they left a note in my ashtray that theyll jump me when I walk up the bush path, cause the first time they broke in my car they found my paystub I know I make good money
