This spot is LAME
ALWAYS ONSHORE AND CLOSING OUT! The reason it's uncrowded is cuz it SUCKS!! Im finished with checking that spot anymore.

Don't believe da hype
I've been surfing da place for 20+years and it's rarely good. Too many factors have to come together. always windy and the tide ruins it. closes out too much.

ugly
rarely clean, crappy and ugly which is why it is empty. when bigger like 6 ft. local scale, it can close out easily if the direction is wrong. also has sharks. not worth it, diamond head usually has better shape. usually not worth the paddle.

halemano's
man, i hate livin in California, cuz all I dream about is halemano's. I'm ambivalent about giving info on the area, because I think a lot of places get swarmed too much in Oahu. But if you can't see this place going off from the lookout near Cliff's, then too bad. Anyways, the rocks out there are a little spooky, saw a Hawaiian monk seal last time I was there... it just looked at me like "hey, what's up" and moved on. Can hold better than most spots when bigger and has a funky a-frame that can get heavy. Have to say, tho, not too kooky even with all the haoles there (and yes, I'm one). Not that locals can't be kooks but you know what I mean.

dude. helemano's doesnt mean house of the shark. it'd be HALEmano or something along those lines. this place has to be one of my favorite places on the island--when theres not so much people.

rare but great
this break only goes off on a couple days every winter... it takes a really weird swell angle to work (lots of west?) when its goin off, nearby cliffs and lighthouse are flat. when it cranks though, its really fast with some nice hollow sections and there are often 40 people in the lineup.

World-famous Kaiko's
Ha, this place was listed somewhere as "world-famous". Don't know about that. This is Kaiko's and Helemano's, with Helemano's getting the better of the big swells. but don't go out thinking this is like the rest of Town; it's more like up north with deeper water, sharks and clean-up sets. Cromwells is in between these two and often doesn't even break. Look out for rock caves when you get pushed under water here, it's not fun.
