Is is Cockroach or Kaupo? A right or left?
The Hawai'ian name for the bay is Kaupo. The nickname is Cockroach. And it's a right, not a left. It is fun at about waist/chest high on a longboard - Nov/Dec/Jan are usually fun here.

Cockroach bay is perfect for those long fun rides, not too fast, easy going. Not that crowded, bring ur longboard and enjoy the small yet powerful rollers. Just a fun place to surf overall

Cockroach bay
It is not called baby makapuu, you would know that if you were a waimanalo local like me. The real name by what the waimanalo boys call it is Cockroach Bay.

Rare day on the East Side
The day that i took the picture was very rare. There was a big east swell and the winds were off shore. I drove by just to check out that side of the Island and I could not believe my eyes. Head high waves and offshor winds. Not perfect but I had to paddle out just to be able to say I had. Fun for longboarding with suprisingly long rides, and you cannot beat the view.
