Just so you all know, Sept 15 2005 was as good as Maalaea has ever gotten in recorded history, won't happen again for another 20 years. If you're on this site thinking about coming to Maui to surf this place good think again, it's the rarest wave in Hawaii by far and when its on the locals are absolutely ruthless. Not to mention you have to REALLY know how to surf to even make the drop and pull in and have any chance of coming out. All in all, don't even bother....Aloha

this wave is SICK!!! i cut my foot on the reef but got 2 barrels. its definetly a world class wave
