Wide pocket of calcareous sand fronted by a shallow sandbar at the head of the bay. Ironwood trees line the backshore. Surf sites are found at the small point at the west end of the beach, in the shorebreak on the sandbar, and at the outside point at the east end of the beach.

Stink Eye - Da Duke is rolling about these stink eye comments. All that is left for "Tamba" and punk wave riders is to patrol a surf line. "Get a life." Advice that would serve you well. All over the world there are punks holding camp over what they believe to be pristine surf spots. When in fact, they don't hold anything. The OCEAN does! There isn't a stink eye that can kick the ocean's ass - and at the end of the ride - when punks like those at Kalihiwai Point harass others, the ocean is plotting its own justice against them. The OCEAN is for everyone - it's the last and what some say the Holy Grail to life. As an American, I'm totally ashamed of what the "white" MFs did to the Monarchy. Having said that, Hawai'i IS a Sovereign nation. Heck, the punks throwing stink eye don't know the meaning much less how to spell it.
Nuf said. I suggest you roll up your boards and welcome those who visit. After all, you want to leave a legacy of Aloha. Right?

Not a Big Deal - I surfed it smaller with only a couple of guys out on a windy Saturday. I had a great time. Then surfed it Monday with a sizable swell and it was crowded. Guys were getting told to go in but were kooks and getting in the way. Just know your place and maybe you can get one that sneaks by the boys. When I finally got my one wave they cheered for me because pulled into a massive shack then smacked the lip. However, I came in with my tail between my legs because I only got one. My pure blooded Hawaiian wife born and raised on Kauai was let down at my failure to dominate the lineup. I was not about to get aggressive out there.. I would say it is a good wave that has epic days but if your not in the crew you could have more fun elsewhere. You should probably just stick with the North shore of Oahu. Kauai is a tough surf trip. You need to know what your doing to find the waves. That takes time and experience and you need a lot of it. Or get married to A Hawaiian that is native to Kauai then her brothers and cousins will show you where the fruit is. In addition they will protect you with their life if anyone messes with you. It is to bad that this place is no longer a secrete. I forgot to mention that a guy drowned on this day. Jet ski's and helicopters were searching for the body.
What is worse? An Asian due that is Filipino, Chinese, or Japanese that thinks he is local or a haole that knows his place, shows respect, and aloha to all???
