Take Kuhio Hwy going North to Hanalei. Go past the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort cross Wailua river bridge. Once over the bridge Wailua Bay is visable on the right side of the road. Continue north on Hwy for 200 yards to parking lot with large tree on the right. Thats the parking lot for the break. Park here and surf in front..
Park your car then walk to the break accross the beach. Good Boogie Board spot and surfing when it is over 3'.
Overview
Atmosphere
Mellow atmosphere, this is a good place for tourists to surf and have a good time with the family. Other spots may be better, but Horners is cool and probably won't kill you.
General
Cool family beach and relatively safe. There have been reports of sharks, but no bites....
I surfed here once on big east swell with kona winds it was sick. Other then that I would't even call it a surf break

Horners
Dont listen to the moron below whos caps key is broken...I grew up at Wailua beach (since 72), since the loss of the inside reef (hurricanes), the inside break is pretty much gone, was alot of fun back in the day. But now, with the right swell, outside Horners (few hundred yards out)is capable of double overhead, ussually nice close out rights, with short capable lefts.. but not very often.
