Kohala lighthouse Access
YOu need to find a local who will guide you to the spot. You will need someone you can trust because this is a hidden spot that you can get robbed or beaten up if you are not careful. You have to go to the northern part of the island and go down a small road to a cattle gate. You have to leave your car and carry all of your equipment because locals will rob your car if they find out that you are a tourist. Be sure to take out all of your valuables because the police will not care because they have other things to do. You are on your own. After you cross over the gate, you will be walking for about 15 minutes down a path. This is good for surfing in the day time only. Leave around 4 oclock because this place is a place that tiger sharks like to swim at dusk. When you reach the ocean on your right seide you will see a lighthouse and on your left a cliff that you will need to climb down to go surfing. It is for hardcore guys. because the water is dark at times and the rocks can pop out of the water at times if you are not careful. The bay reminds me of honolua bay because you can watch the surfer from the cliff. On a 10 foot day it can be insane and fun.

Additional Surfing Infos

  Overview
Atmosphere I have surfed this spot many times with my cousins and brother. We have had fun times here. This place hates bodyboarders. So be careful. Be nice to the locals. The police don't like tourists to much.

Get a clue
Who ever you are you're a kook. Why would you move to a town that has enjoyed it empty surf spots and put it on the map. You have no respect for those who have lived and surfed here long before you even came to Hawaii. It's kooks like you that give meaning to the term (HAOLE). p.s. I'm sure your not a real surfer so this note won't mean anything to you.
