Additional Surfing Infos
To the left of the pier, if you are facing the Gulf, the bottem is a bit more shelly and pushes into the pier. The waves hold up better, their bigger and faster (usually) than the right.
Not much crowd to the right.
Can get decent swells at the end of the pier, but good breaks all the way in.
  Overview
Atmosphere a favorite of locals in the Port Aransas, Rockport and Aransas Pass areas.
A faveorite of Victoria surfers.
  General Real friendly surf experiance.
Watch out for rays.

Longboarders Wave
I've lived in the Corpus Christi area for years and this is one of my favorite spots after SPI. The south jetties offer great protection during a northeast swell and the atmosphere is very friendly and rarely crowded. The wave does tend to mush a bit so a longboard is prefered. The north jetty on St. Joe's Island offers some great waves but only on large Southeast swells. You will have to take the ferryboat across as the paddle across the ship channel is long.
